Most people don’t wake up until they absolutely need to in order to make it to work on time. However, even waking up one extra hour early can set you on the path to success. Many successful entrepreneurs have a morning routine that puts them in a positive mindset so they are ready to take on the day.
As an entrepreneur and business consultant, Ilya Movshovich lives by a strong work ethic and believes the key to success lies in creating good habits. He shares 4 rituals to incorporate into your morning routine.
- Get 7-9 hours of sleep every night. It’s hard to wake up and start your morning routine without getting enough sleep! Your brain needs plenty of sleep to recuperate from the day before. Aim to go to bed and wake up at the same time each day.
- Drink water within the first thirty minutes of waking up. Don’t go straight for the coffee. When you wake up in the morning, you are super dehydrated from not drinking anything for eight hours. Drinking water first thing in the morning will make you more alert.
- Make your bed. This may sound silly if you aren’t used to doing it every day, but it’s a small win in the morning that sets you up to complete more tasks throughout the day.
- Do something to stimulate your brain. This could be anything from reading for fifteen minutes, doing a crossword puzzle, drawing, or spending a little bit of time on a hobby. Anything that gets the brain juices flowing is perfect.
